Now is the time
for small groups to switch to Blue Shield.
Groups with five to 50 eligible employees and a RAF
of 1.05 or lower from a prior carrier get a
RAF reduction and simplified underwriting (login
required) when they switch to Blue Shield between
May 1, 2005 and June 1, 2005.

Highlights
Groups with 5-14 enrolling employees receive a
five-point reduction in RAF.
Groups with 15-50 enrolling employees receive a
10-point RAF reduction.
To expedite underwriting, no health statements
are required for qualifying groups.
Prior Carrier renewal letter must be submitted
with new case enrollment.
Groups must have a renewal date with a prior
carrier from March 1, 2005 through July 31,
2005.
PacAdvantage, CaliforniaChoice and
certain association group cases are not
eligible.
